Obsidian Energy Ltd. is a Canada-based exploration and production company. The Viking is a light oil, horizontal development play located in central Alberta. Its operations are focused on the Esther area. Peace River is a stable, cold-flow, base production asset. It operates on a contiguous and an acreage within the heart of the Peace River Oilsands region.

At the current time, this stock appears poised to return capital gains one way or another. A double from the current price would probably make most shareholders happy and encourage patience from the activist investors. Rising commodity prices have encouraged higher hopes than that. In the meantime shareholders can enjoy a heated discussion about maximizing shareholder value. That is probably going to be very good for shareholders in the near future."
