Aphria Inc. APHA

Aphria, which is headquartered in Ontario, produces and sells medicinal and recreational cannabis. The company operates through retail and wholesale channels in Canada and internationally. Aphria is a main distributor of medical cannabis to Germany and has operations in over 10 countries outside of Canada. However, it does not have exposure to the U.S. CBD or THC markets due to the constraints of federal prohibition. It has some U.S. exposure through the acquisition of SweetWater, a craft brewer

RE:One year as an APH investor

RE:One year as an APH investorInstead of trying to time the selling/buyback, inwhat is a roller-coaster of an industry right now, why not conserve your shares and sell CALL options.  Or better yet, buy Calls for several months into the future - say, in the fall after legalization goes through.  Buying/selling options is as easy as shares, but you don't risk your core share holdings (except if your Sell option order is filled in future, but that will be at some much higher price than today if you arrnge it right).

That being said, there is a short learning curve associated with options  - e.g. what's the best strike price, etc. You still have to make decisions about when to buy and sell those options, but your core shares will be safe.  I'm sitting on several >300% gains in bought Calls on WEED and APH, for options expiring in July and October. Also PUT options (bought when shares prices dipped), are a great way to buy shares in future at a discount (if you're confident the share price won't tank).
