Uranium’s future Well written post by winr88. Everyone needs to remember how small physically these deposits are. It’s comparable to finding a baseball in an Olympic pool with a ten foot straw. Takes many drill holes to find rich paydirt. If you are complaining about these drill results you should consider investing in another commodity. Uranium is a long term play. There are many stocks to day trade. Ptu is not one.
Look at the valuation many companies had during 2007. Companies like Ptu were worth hundreds of millions. Not on drill results, but speculation. Think about this. All the uranium companies value in the Athabaskan basin. Market cap of maybe 5 billion. I haven’t done the exact math. They have the potential to supply 5 percent of global power for multiple decades. Valuation is a few percent of say apples market cap. One tech company is worth many times more than the entire anthabasca/ all pure play uranium companies globally. That’s a rediculous disconnect to me. I personally believe that if you put all the global uranium companies on a dart board and blindly throw darts at them. Whichever you land on will be worth Many Times more in the near future. Possibly far greater when the next boom market hits. A bull market that must hit if we are to fuel the all ready existing nuclear fleet in 2030. ( unless they extract cheaply from salt water or come up with fusion).
My thoughts.
