Not sure why that would have a sudden impact on this now. If anything, the rating increases might play more of a role. 

But most likely these are the couple of scenerios:
- A pump-and-dump: a bunch of people got in at $0.05 and now have more than doubled their gains - most likely the case
- Someone has insider information and is acting on it - most likely not the case

I've tried contacting NKO on several occasions but have yet to recieve a response.
