What Zettle did in the face of the opposition against him (ie 40%+ against him from the start) was quite impressive and maximized shareholder value. He used the tools at his disposal - if you want to be a baby and moan about how he tried to paint ACB ownership in his defence, whatever, but the fact of the matter is what he did ultimately led to eventual FRIENDLY negotiations and a significantly better deal for shareholders.

If you expected anyone in the process to act like a saint through all of it, well, I can only assume your exposure to this kind of thing in the business world is pretty minimal.
