A low float means there is a small amount of shares available for active trading. Typically i would say it is a good thing and something I look for in companies i invest in. Due to the small amount of shares available good news typically propels share price up much faster and higher then companies with large floats. Having lots of shares locked up in escrow further reduces the amount of shares that will be available for sale. Think of Supply & Demand.

Available for sale and also none available to short which is great. One other thing I like about SNN is that it’s trading on the CSE, some may think this stinks because big funds won’t come in And buy until it moves over to the TSX, but this also means that the stock is not optionable which keeps away large funds from shorting and manipulating the stock. For now it’s just honest trading from small companies and the public. Once it goes to the TSX it’ll become optionable the big funds will move in and the corruption will begin.
