Ok i see you don't have a degree in finance. Buy 1000 shares of CMED at 38.89 for $38890. Sell short 3400 shares of ACB at 13.45$ For 45730$

Deal closes and I get 3400 shares of ACB for my 1000 shares of CMED. I close out my short with the 3400 shares of ACB received.

So so my purchase of 38890$ of CMED earned me 45730$ from ACB

This is called arbitrage.
