Thank you Paths Drill, drill, drill.
I grew up next to the Berkeley Pit. Mining ops were both underground but mostly in the pit back then. My college summers were spent drilling and coring in uranium mines- and then working in oil fields of Wyoming on seismograph rigs. Every once in awhile, the geologist would emerge- to look at a core sample- in nice, clean clothes- making twice what we did.
My love of mining from Butte to Deadwood/Lead to the Yukon has a lot to do with my Irish roots.
As much as I love mining I have a huge distrust for people selling pie in the sky mining shares. This has been my 40 year experience. Not only do they tend to inflate and exaggerate to attract investors- so many things can go wrong and often do. As I look back- I could have and probably should have shorted every miner I have owned including Kinross and Tahoe. Platinum Group was a disaster.
So that is my truth. It is what it is- I am still looking for an investment that is stable- and does what they say they will do. I did quite a lot of dd with PVG- stopping short of visiting the site. I have solid friends in the mining biz who assured me that PVG and VOK had what they said they had. Strathcona they said- was just disgruntled bcuz the formation did not suit their testing models.
And so we shall wait and see.
