Can a Pill Replace Pot for Treating Concussions?CBD’s are going to be huge for the players and the businesses of all injury prone sports. The players stay healthier, leading to bigger contracts and much less damaging health affects as they age. The positive potential for CBD’s are numerous, while THC regardless of its benefit still remains a contentious issue for many. Can a Pill Replace Pot for Treating Concussions?
Current evidence suggests these two particular cannabinoids have the capability to disrupt the series of chemical reactions that follow a concussion and lead to brain-cell death. CBD activates receptors that trigger a cellular repair mechanism in the brain, while dexanabinol prevents calcium from accumulating in the cells and draining their energy. There is some evidence that this effect could be achieved simply by smoking marijuana, but the major benefit to working with isolated cannabinoids is that researchers can choose which compounds to use and which to exclude. With the cannabinoid THC absent, the concussion pill, which could be taken up to 24 hours after an injury, won’t get anyone high and presumably won’t inspire the institutional backlash of its leafy progenitor.

The volatility in marijuana stocks is somewhat justified since their valuations are based on guesssed numbers. While the numbers could be huge there still remains a couple of huge unknowns. The biggest is the black market’s ability to lower the price to $4-$5 a gram and still make a profit. Something the producers will not be able to accomplish for another 2-3 years. The other big unknown is how many users will leave the covienance of their current marijuana source to buy it publicly? A little investment here might prove to be a good long term move.
