Thing is, I subscribe to your theory, too..

That's why I am glad I had recovered my initial investment and am just holding "freebies/profits".  I've never liked the trading waves after corporate consolidations.  After all, if the company's stock was on a rise, they'd have less of a reason to consolidate - restructure their float.
