RE:RE:RE:RE:Black market vs Legit market
RE:RE:RE:RE:Black market vs Legit marketVery good points - it's so difficult for underresourced authorities to keep up with their laundering/distribution methods. I read that a lot of the people who may have obtained licenses for them have clean criminal records. Taxation regime needs to be perfect because people will compromise their health/safety for a buck. Also wondering if legalization will eventually increase demand for harder substances.

Agreed and it all depends on what you are looking for. Would I buy vodka from the Hells Angels? No Would a price-sensitive buyer would? Maybe?
If you buy no-name food, you'll buy the cheapest products. If you aim for quality, you'll go for a well known product from a well know source. At least in North America.
Will the Hells Angels collect and redeem taxes? No
Will that get them in trouble? Yes.
The tax collection component here changes everything. It will be interesting to see for example, what happens between medical and recreational marijuana since that appears to be a huge loophole at the present. What does it cost to get a MMJ prescription? Which doctoc will now be relunctant to issue a prescription once the "illegality" is removed?
The use of medical marijuana for recreational purposes will continue to be the grey market but the grey market will move from "Joe's headshop" connected to criminal elements to Shoppers Drug Mart connected to known, quality driven, mega corporations like APH, ACB and WEED.
Joe's Headshop with Hell's Angel produced tainted products of unknown quality will continue to survive but would I buy my meds from a well known source or from a shady place?
