RE:I ACTUALLY LIKE CENOVUSHey Patricia, while I agree that there are some things to like at Cenovus I respectfully disagree on your government support points. Alberta has been infamously difficult for o&g companies since the NDP came into power. They have implemented a carbon tax and raised royalties before other provinces like Saskatchewan who are still fighting the tax. Notley was pretty much anti oil up until about 4 months ago when she started fighting for this pipeline and is now making some very minor threats to BC like boycotting BC wine. I feel her new found defense of the oil industry is purely a re-election play. She hired ex-anti pipeline protester to a senior role in her office. Does that sound like the kind of move an oil friendly premier would do? As for federal Trudeau will continue to now want to get his hands dirty on this pipeline disagreement. Yes the feds have approved the pipeline but the BC goverment has already stated they are going to bog this down with so much environmental red tape that will literally slow the pipeline construction down to a halt. They want extra environmental reports done by their own experts and now we are already talking about going to court. This going to fed court would slow this down by years, and is exactly what BC wants to do. Its that old play book of delay delay delay until the pipeline company pulls out because its costing to much money. Alberta still has a lot of problems when it comes to provincial and federal support for its o&g industry.
