Market penetration As I was going through the IR Presentation again today, I can't find answers to why market penetration is so low. 1,250,000 patients with stage 4 COPD that qualify or can be candidates for Viemed's therapy and there are only 40,000 beneficiaries of non-invasive ventilation services (Viemed has only 5,000 of those 40,000).
I understand there is a favourable market trend for more effective homecare solutions to reduce hospital re-admissions costs and save money all across. Does this mean 1,250,000 patients currently receive the therapy but within hospital systems or simply there are that many people in need of this service and government / insurances would be willing to provide coverage to more people if it would be more cost effective?
This market penetration statistic puzzles me, because if Viemed can get 3-4% of the potential market in a few years this leads to a very significant sales numbers and mitigates any potential reimbursement cuts in the future.
Any comments are welcome
