Environmental & Social Impact Assessment - Wardell/Armstrong

Environmental & Social Impact Assessment - Wardell/ArmstrongAccording to the study the 2015 Environmental and Social Impact Study that was undertaken in compliance with the standards of the International Finance Corporation. The mine site is in a rural, upland area and there is no need of physical re-settlement. Approximately 1,300 people have been employed during the current construction phase and the project has prioritized local employment which is targeted at 30%. During production it is expected that 770 people will be employed (taking a big bite out of the local poverty). On the Environmental side - The distance between the Project infrastructure and the local communities are such that air pollution, noise, vibration and dust generated by the project will not significantly affect the local people. Water used in the mining process, contact water and seepage from the barren rock facility - will not enter the outside environment; i.e. it will be a closed system. Furthermore a detailed study has shown that there is no physical connection between the groundwater beneath the Project site and the source of the mineral water used and bottle in the town of Jermuk. (Source Lydian International, The Amulsar Gold Project - Environmental & Social Impact Assessment - commissioned by Wardell & Armstrong April, 2015) From a social and environmental perspective - things are looking good and the weather in the area also appears to be very cooperative (warmer temps). Looking forward to seeing this low cost world class gold project in production - good for the people, good for the Government of Armenia and good for shareholders!!!!
