RE:RE:PVG Down, POG Up ExplanationJust a comment reguarding the powerline for Brucejack It is my understanding that to bring power from highway 37 (the Northwest Mainline that goes from Meziadin to Iskut with a planned extention to Dease Lake.) was considered by Pretium and they elected to bring in the power to the minesite by extanding an existing line from the Pioneer mine to the Brucejack minesite at the mines cost.
When Red Chris was built-the mine funded the extention from Bob Quinn to a point south of Iskut and sold that portion of the line to BC Hydro who extended the line to Iskut at Hydro''s expense and the mine paid for the line from the minesite to the tie in point. The line from north of Stewart to Brucejack is much shorter than the alternate route from highway 37 and since the mine would be paying for the line it made sense to take the shorter route. There may be some additional colour that could be added by Hydro or Pretium but the capex of the line to the mine would be at the mine's cost no matter which route was chosen.
