RE:Rule of Law in a Safe JurisdictionUrsus,
I don't have to look up Lac Minerals vs International Corona. I was working for Lac when the decision came down in 1987. The Supreme Court split 3 to 2 in favour of Corona. We were surprised it was that close, since Lac management had clearly violated a verbal understanding. The decision was expected. Justice was served. You can't compare Canada to Congo. Law in Congo is synonymous with the will of a dictator. He is the law. Or rather he is free to change the law, to suit his own personal objectives. If opponents get in the way, it's jail, exile, or worse, assassination. In Canada there is respect for individual rights and private property. Sometimes those rights are violated, but that is the exception, rather than the rule. In Congo, there are no rights.
Anyone who owns this stock is here for one reason -- RF and his management team. They have come through in the past under exceptionally difficult conditions. If IVN was in Saskatchewan, this stock would be trading today at $15 to $20. So, I'm willing to hold at $3.13. Platreef provides a backstop. Look how quickly events moved in South Africa. Perhaps change is at hand for Congo. More protests scheduled for February 25. I don't know where these people find the courage. RF can't perform miracles, but if it is at all possible, IVN is the Company to do it.
