Benefits - Is there one good reason to keep the average chronically ill patient in a hospital room when they simply requiring a ventilator?
Disadvantage - Fills a hospital room, patient not able to sleep well, very costly to patient (personally) or Medicare
In-home treatment for COPD = $32/day average, $950 per month
Benefits - Opens a hospital room, patient able to stay in the comfort of their own home, patient able to sleep well which reduces other complications from occurring, very cost effective to the patient (personally) or Medicare, in-home support when required.
Disadvantage - Are there any????
