Quoted from PLP’s Home Page “What is the Pebble Mine? Right now, it’s an idea. An idea that could help power our nations green energy and initiatives. An idea that could bring jobs and infrastructure to Southwest Alaska, helping families remain in their villages and thrive. An idea that all of this is possible in harmony with the environment.”
1. It’s not a mine. It’s a proposal to mine. It’s not even an established reserve.
2. It’s an “idea”? Come on, an idea? Let’s hope after +$800 million spent and over 10-years it is more than an “idea”.
3. Any metals produced by Pebble will enter the world commodity market. Not just for US or Canadian purchase.
4. Villagers are not “thriving” now? Define “thriving”. Degrading statement.
5. An idea in harmony with the environment? It would be an open pit sulphide mine in a pristine area!
How ridiculous, disingenuous and misleading. No one wants PLP/NDM to be the operator.
