These subscription services provide REAL recurring revenues for theatre exhibitors willing to implement them, except Cineplex which doesn't need it within the foreseable future, due their market dominance .
Theatre chain subscriptions are already very popular in Europe( as well as 4DX) . On the other side, what d-box markets as being recurring is in fact heavily correlated to box office performance, and very lumpy.
