RE:the municipality is going bankruptThis week, Minera San Rafael delivered a check for Q4 million 16 thousand 845 for the payment of voluntary royalties. This, explained Guillermo Monroy, director of sustainability of the company, was to contribute to the "education of the municipality" that is going through a budget crisis since the mine was suspended.

Tahoe could have just given the middle finger to the local government but they know these people are their lifeblood and need them on their side to convince the powers at be to permenently reopen the mine.  Smart move.
