RE:RE:RE:My thoughs on DO27 Jay is inferior in every way to DO27 - worse grade, worse $/carat, under a lake - honestly I am pretty sure it is uneconomic at 2007 diamonds prices. BUT they are waiting to see what the market for small, bad diamonds looks like after Argyle closes in 2020-2021. Washington/Blusson (yes) bought EKATI with the plan to mine Jay; if Jay doesn't pan out I think they are looking at a closing plan. You are talking about moving 2.6M tonnes of ore from DO27 to Diavik via a winter road in 60 days; crazier things have happened. Washington and Blusson overpaid for Dominion/EKATI. I suppose they might overpay for Do27 too - but I largely agree with Cudjo that Do27 is a stranded deposit.
