It had better be good because I'm with Scotia on this one in that I don't see the advantage to Lucara. All I see is a siphoning off of 20% of the EBITDA to others.

How does it work? Do they buy the goods from Lucara and then sell them on? If so who pays the 10% royalty to govt? (which is based on an arm's length transaction at the mine gate.)

Has the Govt of Botswana been consulted? Is the Govt of Botswana one of the shareholders of Clara? Remember they are 15% shareholders of DeBeers. (the other 85% is owned by Anglo American).

A lot more needs to be explained before I am content with this deal.


Thanks for at least voicing your honest opinion Nyoni whether people don’t want to hear it or not . I appreciate it . Thanks for your side of the coin also Sox . Personally I’m not a big BNN fan . Usually it’s all pump and dump . Hopefully it’s different this time . Lucara’s wash and rinse cycle is hard on the head .
