The smaller split ratio I guess is needed as you say to maintain the $5 share price, but I think the goal was to have 40M in float to generate some more volume and interest from retail investors, so bad from that perspective. With only 20M outstanding shares, it is still a tiny float and will continue to be tightly held, so I think a double off a $5 post split price is a no brainer. This could move very quickly back up to $20 with significant news.
I agree 100%. Float will still be small. Unless they propose another split down the line.
