RE:i am fine with u.k. investment
I will give you this. SO FAR management has proven themselves trustworthy. SO FAR.

That SMALL socalled investment just doesn't make sense. That money could easily get the same return paying off DEBT and balancing the books or being held in reserver for other upcoming expenses. IMHO it should have been. WHY???

As for SOLAR, it is likely 20 years ahead of its time in North America. A God Send if you live off the main grid but hardly worth the investment and other issues that go along with it when trying to run a home or outbuildings. The cost of installation, maintenance, specialized utility units??????????????? Just doen't make it advantageous to purchasing electricity from the grid.

ASK ME HOW I KNOW THIS??????

I heard the hype. Had a couple of different sales reps come to the property to assess my present and future needs. They kept stressing the power you don't use can be sold back on the grid. Yeah right. It's possible but it's a hassle and they only pay WHOLESALE rates, along with the rent or cost of installing the equipment to feed it back into their system.

I looked into alternative heating venues as well. Both Solar and Geothermal. There NEVER was any PAYBACK. In fact when push came to shove it was more EXPENSIVE.

If I lived in an area where Grid Power wasn't available or incredibly expensive, like ONtario/Quebec then I would certainly have given both of them another look. Even then, I would be reluctant. The cost is not in line with what is presently available.

SOLAR IS A LOSER. GET RID OF THAT BUCKET. IT's HOLDING BACK THE BOAT and frankly, I don't think present management KNOWS HOW TO MAKE IT PROFITABLE.

IMHO they bought the SOLAR dog because they saw what was happening OFFSHORE.

What they didn't take into account is that North America is overlayed with paid for infrastructure. Some parts of Europe are similar. Most of Asia isn't. Africa certainly isn't and neither is South America or Mid East Asia.

The same investing principles CAN't be applied here. The demand isn't there and  the competition of the established distribution GRID is fierce.
