RE:FDA, CDC and ASM are providing recommendations for health...Thanks. The sampling and culturing protocol was updated a few weeks ago.... https://www.fda.gov/downloads/MedicalDevices/ProductsandMedicalProcedures/ReprocessingofReusableMedicalDevices/UCM597949.pdf There is no excuse for Olympus and others to continue to deny their problem and to stonewall a solution. As I have said, the FDA needs to take a stand and a lead on this, and recognize that the VP4 is a documented, efficient, and effective solution to the ERCP scope contamination problem!! What political or lobbying forces are preventing this? At the very least, now, the FDA must recognize that the VP4 is at least substantially superior to ETO (not 'substantially equivalent' - as there is no submitted data for ETO!) and the VP4 should be valid recognized option (and far more efficient and cost effective) to sterilize these ERCP scopes!
