RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:Amazon is not a big deal

RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:Amazon is not a big dealFinancially it might not be that big of a deal at this time. But it does kick off the direction of the strategy which is what investors have been kicking Aimia about.

If Esso was the begining of the end, Amazon is the beguining of the start. More online means that Aeroplan is looking to appeal to the younger demographics.

It is also great leverage to renew with Amex. Why would Amex drop Aeroplan when they can see how many clients are excited about Amazon? What is the risk for Amex to keep partnership at this time?

Bottom line: are the gains based on the financial prospect of Amazon? probably not. But it is a shift in strategy and it will certainly help with Amex negocication.
