Could be various reasons,

Could be various reasons,For the decision to bring on Gene, as per the CBC interview, we now know that various players met with him before he made the decision to go IMH (IMH obviously offered the most). Therefore, I assume there is more to it than just promotion, as Canopy doesn’t need any help in this regard and was still a potential candidate in Gene’s eyes.

The cannabis Infused moneybag soda is a no brainer for the future, and IMH has oil extraction equipment now to make that happen, but likely not yet, given lack of regulation clarity in relation to edibles. Anybody think there is a chance they use this to somehow push into the US market, California in particular?

Otherwise, not yet sure what the hidden agenda is. I wonder if IMH has a secondary plan of getting the share price up in the short term for a capital raise to expand faster than previously planned?

All just my opinion, but at the end of the day, IMH is solid, with or without gene, so I am long for the foreseeable future, barring any catastrophes. Thanks.
