The ArmEcoFront has changed the suit in court

The ArmEcoFront has changed the suit in courtAs previously reported by Past.am, in the fall of 2017, the ArmEcoFront filed a lawsuit to the RA Administrative Court against the Ministry of Emergency Situations for not providing a copy of all the technical documentation for hazardous production facilities of Amoulsar gold quartzite mine. According to the claim, the ArmEcoFront had not received information from the Ministry of Emergency Situations about open pits, waste rock dump, heap leach platform and the gold recovery plant, which caused the judicial dispute. Environmentalist Levon Galstyan said in a conversation with Past.am that their letter of inquiry was quite clear and they were surprised that the Ministry of Emergency Situations refused to give answers. According to the geographer, the documentation should have been exposed to the public on the website of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.... During the preliminary hearing on 07.03.2018, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Armenia, with the consent of Geoteam CJSC, provided the court and the plaintiff with copies of the technical safety review conclusions of the industrial hazardous facilities. The MES informed Past.am that according to Article 96 of the Code of Administrative Procedure, the dispute was essentially exhausted and the suit was subject to cancellation.
..."However, the plaintiff's representative presented to the court a change of the claim, asking for the Ministry of Emergency Situations to provide copies of the expert opinion, as well as to provide the documents that form the basis for the mine expert's conclusion. The court admitted the petition of the RA Ministry of Emergency Situations to involve as a third party the Lydian Armenia CJSC, as the latter possesses the documents required in the new lawsuit", said Faina Vardanyan, the Head of Information and Public Relations Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
By the way, the next preliminary hearing is scheduled for 03.04.2018 and most likely the Environmental Front will also have the opportunity to receive the documents kept by Lydian Armenia CJSC. (Armine Grigorian, Past.am, March 14, 2018)
