RE:RE:RE:What's Next For Aimia/Aeroplan? Maybe This!OK...here goes...comments from a “CryptoHead” to a “DopeHead”.
IF “points” and “cryptocurrency” are the same thing, as drphunk says, then why would Aeroplan stay with a points program when the world is transitioning to cryptocurrencies?
Because black and white TV is far superior to 4K TV...right??
Cryptocurrencies underpinned with blockchain technology have many benefits...for loyalty programs as well.
Oh yes, Aimia/Aeroplan is a high-flying stock with its points-based loyalty program...compared to cryptocurrency/blockchain based start-ups...NOT!
There is very strong investor interest in companies with a good cryptocurrency model...Aimia/Aeroplan can be one of those companies.
Get with the program...get it?

That is so far off their area of focus, meaning that it would take significant time, effort and expense to aquire this expertise. And what benefit to memberswould this "cryptocurrency" have? If I'm paying for my travel with the Aeroplan cryptocurrency isn't that the exact same thing as redeeming points? In short this is not the first time I've heard on this board that Aimia should involve itself in Crypto/blockchain, and there is no scenario where that makes sense, and one hopes no way that it comes to pass. We should be happy (and realistic) about this association with Amazon, and not get carried away
