They are getting power from local natural gas plants, they bypass most of fees the average Alberta consumer pay on their Epcor bill. I work for a large company and its disgusting how they get power for almost nothing compared the regular residential consumer. In edmonton I'm paying around 5.9 cents a kWh plus with the fees and taxes around 12 cents all in per kWh as a residential customer billed via Atco.
Your crazy to think a large commercial customer would be paying almost double the rate of the regular residential customer....
