RE:Huge news for MPX, after potential Federal Legislation

RE:Huge news for MPX, after potential Federal Legislation This is not really accurate. The protection is the same as it ever was, and applies only to medical. As all the recreational dispensaries also serve medical customers, it’s highly unlikely the DOJ would crack down given the medical protection in place. A different amendment to specifically cover rec, and other amendments involving tax relief and banking access are all being squashed at Committee level, preventing floor votes that would likely succeed. As much as people like to blame Jeff Sessions, it’s actually PETE Sessions, who heads the House Rules Committee, that is blocking the legislation, presumably with the support of Paul Ryan and the Trump admin. Jeff Sessions has been clear that his only objective is enforcing existing law, and would obviously have no interest if the law was changed. He’s against it, but in opposing the existing situation his position is actually reasonable  - congress should change the law if they feel that strongly. The problem is the social conservatives that are allowing their personal views to prevent that from happening, which is annoying and will ultimately be pointless.

After 3 years of blocking these amendments, it’s pretty clear to me that nothing is going to change until the Democrats take over the house in November, hopefully.... There is hope that FinCEN will step in and address the banking problems, but right now it doesn’t look great in the short term. They’re not going to contradict the DOJ

As full disclosure, I have a position in MPX and am very bullish long term. Just sharing my thoughts with my fellow investors.
