RE:RE:RE:RE:Family Will Do It Again - Rumour Was Right - Back to RootsThere are various approaches for investing in this revolutionary, and what will be disruptive, vehicle technology.
Yes, acquire/build a position in BRP would be a very good idea.
Yes, secure an early investor stake in VeloMetro, which presently is a private start-up company based in Canada. Accredited investors can invest in VeloMetro by contacting the company.
Yes, the market potential is huge and untapped and can be dominated by the first serious company that can exploit this invention...hopefully, that would be BRP/VeloMetro.
An important step would be to get the family interested in this VeloMetro project...
Thoughts??
BeginnersMind wrote: Thank you for your documented approach Justbull4u, I will follow that more closely and you might be on something of huge potential.
What's your game plan then? Acquiring a (or a more consistent) position in BRP? trying to secure an early investor stake in VeloMetro/Mobile?
I'm curious to understand your moves on this since you devote a great deal of energy on it... I also see a great potential market for this type of vehicle. We have two cars and we would ideally need just one. I got interested in this because I have two electric bike since two years and I know how fast and useful these tools can be. We plan to let go of one of our cars and buy one of these (we have the train and we have plenty of other options as well). I LOVE my two electric bikes (a fast road bike and a powerful mountain bike) but this would be so much convenient and the reason why we could let go of the second car... Of course there's a market for this and it will be huge...
so let's see!

You have some good comments and I will provide some insight.
This VeloMetro and the velomobile is a new vehicle category that is being invented…just like Chysler invented the minivan to remain viable as an automobile company.
In Europe, there are some companies developing prototypes of this type of vehicle…but…VeloMetro is way ahead in terms of commercializing the vehicle and technology.
There are almost no competitors:
- OrganicElf is a small company in the USA with a very basic design that does not offer many of the advantages that the VeloMetro does
- VirtueBike - basic concept is similar but the VeloMetro is far superior in terms of technology and design
- YouTube video: Various interesting prototypes are presented and very few are commercially available and in production…but…most are not commercially available in North America and elsewhere. Many of the concepts are awkward designs, poor ergonomics, not practical etc. Most importantly, none of the velomobiles presented in the YouTube video are available at BRP, MEC, Canadian Tire or elsewhere where the VeloMetro could be sold.
Excellent competitive research which demonstrates that there is strong interest in this new vehicle category…and that the entire market potential is available to the company that can move quickly to develop and commercialize these velomobile products.
Hopefully…it will be Bombardier Recreational Products.
Hopefully, Bombardier Recreational Products will contact VeloMetro to see if a partnership is possible.
Let's see!
BeginnersMind wrote: Justbull4u, You seem very excited with this potential market but I researched it owning 2 electric bikes already and I can tell you that the competition for these covered electric bikes/trikes is already ferocious with European players dominating the research and offering, and the Chinese about to wipe the market at ridiculous costs...
I don't want to sound negative or pessimistic about the dots that you have connected together, but there are tons of those products comparing with Velomobile:
https://electricbikereview.com/organic-transit/2013-elf/ https://www.virtuebike.com/product/virtue-pedalist https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Rt4A6UYnH4&t=31s Could BRP make a blast with these? maybe, but the prices are already getting down and down and the market will require extreme affordability from all players as the competition is already huge... Velomobile has a well and integrated approach it seems...
let's see if your potential connexion between Velomobile and BRP turn out to be a match ?!?
justbull4u wrote: Glasshalfful...what do you think of the idea of the family going back to its roots with this electric bicycle invention?
Bombardier invented the Ski-Doo, Sea-Doo etc.
This VeloMetro electric assist bicycle (called a velomobile) looks like a car and fits the roots of Bombardier...especially if it is looking for a new revolutionary transportation product.
There are approx. 76 million cars sold worldwide annually.
There are approx. 130 million bicycles sold worldwide annually.
This is a hybrid car/bicycle with projected annual sales somewhere inbetween those of a car and those of a bicycle.
Bombardier Recreational products would be a logical partner for this VeloMetro.
Another option would be for the family to transfer control of Bombardier and focus on Bombardier Recreational Products and the VeloMetro.
Your thoughts??
RE:RE:RE:RE:The family will not do it again, rumor was wrong.
Maybe the rumour has to do with this electric bicycle?
Yes, this is an electric bicycle!
VeloMetro, the start-up company that invented this electric bicycle, is based in Canada.
Hummm….very interesting!
