RE:RE:RE:Malcolm! You missed one MOST important analytical point.Agree with most of that Mega. Fusion reactions are the creators of the heavy metals. It is proven that the Nickel deposit in Sudbury was the result of a meteor impact. First I have heard of the Athabaska being formed by similar space events although I certainly would not discount the possibility.
In any event - as you - say - who really cares how it got there. It is there and is quite shallow and there is no doubt that we are part owners of a spectacular Uranium deposit. Now all we need is for the rest of the investing world to realise that we are consuming more that we produce and that cannot go on forever.

Every day that goes by another reactor years worth of Uranium is consumed and less than a reactor years worth of Uranium is produced by mines. How long we can keep on like that depends on how much stockpile there is and whether it is available. It could be some years before we see this market really move...but hold onto your hats when it does.
I can wait it out.

Period.  Uranium, Cobalt, Copper, Nickel do not exist without supernova stars that expand, then contract under gravity -densify and then explode splashing these heavy metals throughout space. These asteroids peppered earth throughout the ages and here we are.

Why is the Athabasca so unique ?  Forget Nexgen - Fission - Cameco - and all the other Athabasca deposits - why so concentrated in this place on earth so close to the surface ? And yes less than 1 KM from surface is close to the surface. One monster chunk hit the earth more than a billion yeasrs ago in the  Athabasca  and contained a boatload of Uranium.  Created the basin of the Athabasca. Look at the map it is a space hit.

But  who really cares. LBS in the ground are key and the reactors continue to eat U every day.Less production more demand. Spot does not exist. Nobody will write a LT at less than $ 75/LB. Utilities are stupid or are they ? Drive the price down, invest and then double dip - who says not ?? JMHO....
