RE:RE:RE:RE:Olympus Removes HLD: Recommends only Sterilization of Scope!

RE:RE:RE:RE:Olympus Removes HLD: Recommends only Sterilization of Scope!I believe the Steris machine includes these scopes in their compatibility index, as well as TSO3, but Sterrad does not make their index public.

The point here is that the VP4 continues to include a broader range of scopes in its index, including colonoscopes and duodenoscopes (the latter for Canada and EU only until FDA 501k is granted for US). The Steris, Sterrad, and even ETO low temperature sterilizers will never obtain or submit data to FDA for a 510k for colonoscopes, duodenscopes, and such long complex small lumen scopes because they simply have never been shown to be effective in sterilizing these. The VP4 is the only one shown effective for such scopes, including data submitted to FDA and as published in a peer reviewed journal.

Getinge and TSO3 need to penetrate the market far more effectively as they clearly have the superior product in terms of efficacy to sterilize a broader range of scopes and in terms of cost efficiency to the hospital or GI unit. If you were buying a low temperature sterilizer, for now and for the future, which would you buy? And, of course, I agree Getinge's market penetration (due mostly to their internal disorganization) has been far too slow and extremely frustrating!
