Just Found Out about DDC a few days ago I discovered this stock a few days ago and bought a small amount of shares this morning. I did a lot of research over the past weekend and couldn't stop thinking about it. Wow, I'm optimistic about this company.
My biggest concern is the large competition: Amazon, UPS, etc. I also spotted one or two small competing drone delivery companies. Flirtey in the United States (where I live) is one, and I think there are a couple more. But I didn't find any other publicly traded ones. Anyone know for sure?
Even with the competition, both large and small, I really think there's plenty of market share for DDC. It has first-mover advantage in Canada and I imagine the barriers to entry are pretty high for a business like this.
The more I think about it, I can imagine tons of potential customers. For example, there's a delivery app called Roadie. Where I live (San Francisco) Companies like Home Depot use it to deliver goods and Delta Airlines uses it to deliver luggage that accidentally got lost. DDC could easily enter that business, returning missing luggage to homes.
I do have some concern the stock price could go lower in the near-term. Not because I'm short or that I don't believe in the company, but mostly because of the stock market in general. Such a long bull market that I think we are due for a correction within the next year. If that happens, I suspect this stock would be hit pretty hard.
That being said, I think buying and holding for anything under $2 will look like a genius move a few years from now. And going short on this stock right now seems insane.
To me it feels like a Hidden Gem. Just for the heck of it I looked at past volume levels.
It wasn't that long ago that this stock had plenty of ZERO-volume days!
You know it's a Hidden Gem if you can actually see your trade go through. =)
Anyhow, I just wanted to add my two cents. This seems like a great message board (for now). I may or may not spend much time here, but I wanted to say Hi and wish everyone all the best!
