RE:RE:Loosely Connected ThoughtsI have not posted for awhile because nothing fundamentally has changed with Torstar. It is interesting however reading the pros and cons by those of you who are in the stock and those who are out.
I am squarely in the camp of being very positive on the stock and have been a big buyer over the past 17 months. I have been diligently reinvesting my dividends each quarter. I sleep like a baby every night.
Sure, TD Bank thinks Torstar will cut the dividend starting this quarter, but we will see about that. Evenif they do, I like the idea of Torstar eliminating the dividend long enough so the B shareholders get a vote!
I have NOT read posts from anyone of you suggesting you plan to attend the Annual Meeting in May. Cummon Man! This MAY be an opportunity to get heard. In any case, it WILL be an opportunity to look them squarely in the eye.
I am not about to go thru "chapter and verse" as to why I am bullish, because I believe I already posted my thought, months ago. Frankly, I think everything that is relevant with the stock has already been said by you folks.
There will alway buyers and sellers; that's what makes a market. But I believe the buyers will prevail for those buying at current price levels. However, it could take another a year or two for full value to be priced into the stock. I also believe a 5.3% dividend yield, at current price levels, is fair compensation for the risk in this stock, but one must be patient, in my humble opinion.
I have no idea how far the upside is but I feel the downside is probably $1.25. I am not in this stock to simply double my money!
