Whats the plan stan
The messages posted here remind me of a time when I had 35000 shares of a stock then after the refinancing I was left with 1 share worth $35 a share, I hope that doesn't happen (issue millions of shares to pay down debt). It all hinges on what Glencore is planning to do (which no one knows). Do they Dilute present shareholders and make them take a sizeable hit? I would bet that everyone gets hurt from this and have seen this before. The Uber rich don't like to give up their stable debt interest (they hate giving that up) and they can drag this out and collect their debt payments for a while. The Congo can sit on the land and hope for a new investor, but doubtful serious companies the size of Glencore will trust them. Their best bet is to work this out with Glencore. Glencore will likely act as the white horse at some point, when the shares are nearly worthless and then try to buy them all from current shareholders, then work out a deal with DRC which creates the exact same arrangement without any debt on the balance sheet. Either way I am not buying or selling. Not going to react. If I had to pick a side Im more likely to sell and never invest with Glencore or DRC or africa again.
