First of all, I am not currently short this stock. I did try shorting the heck out of it in the $40's, but couldn't get any shares, despite trying for several days. Right now I have an investment position, and currently no trading position.
Here are some important points to consider:
1) The ONLY reason we are in the market is to make money. Period.
2) In the market, there are many ways to make money. Trade short term, swing trade, long term investment, short the stock. NONE of these bets are more noble, or more worthy than another. They're just bets. No white hats. No black hats. Just a bet, pure and simple.
3) Games get played on a stock in ALL directions. Up, down, sideways (boxed). You name a direction, and there is a game to be played. Now, just because you might not know the game, or understand the game, or see the game does not make it right or wrong. Hell, if I could move the price whatever way I wanted, I would in a second. (Go back to point #1)
4) The market is NOT fair. Retail is chum for the sharks. Know that as a starting point, and you're one step closer to surviving.
5) . As for the short game, it's generally done by pros, and they're damn good at it. Personally, I kind of admire the skill. But that's because of Point #1. Far more often I see them execute with a high degree of skill. Yes, sometimes they get caught. That's fun too. But they don't get caught often. I would say that about 80% of the time, their execution is pretty brilliant. Good for them. They made money.
6) Just because the game of the moment isn't in your favour, is not to label those who ARE making money at that moment as scum. Again, point 1. Or put it this way. If you're long, and they absolutely run the stock up strongly, are they still scum? To the contrary, somehow I see you not minding that scenario. ;)
7) Did I mention point #1? Yep. That's the whole thing in a nutshell. Quite ruthless. Absolutely true.

Plainly put, shorters are all scum! They are the equilavent of used car salesmen. These are the same people that play the 'don't pass line' when playing craps.
If you don't believe in Cannabis stocks then do find a stock you do believe in and buy it long.
A good shorter believes a stock will go down based on fundamentals, news and what have you. But everyone knows that Canopy is a sound company that is doing all the right things and has top notch executives like Bruce.
But WEED shorters are plain gamblers who are shorting without looking at the future procpect of the company, it management etc...
WEED will skyrocket in no time and you shorters will be caught with your pants down and I for one will get the last laugh you losers!
