RE:The Sad Reality

RE:The Sad RealityIt is a sin that the government generates revenues off of environmental disasters, no matter how you cut it.....My opinion.

SizzlinSteaks wrote: Governments fine companies when there are oil or chemical spills. However, these fines are not large enough to force multinationals to implement real changes to avoid such devastation in the first place. Furthermore, the fact that governments generate $$$ from oil spills through such means is another atrocity in iteself as we have no idea where that money goes. It should  be put aside explicitly for environmental benefit, but again that does not solve the problem in the first place.

For the reasons stated above I truly don't believe our goverment gives a rats azz about the environment or they would make it law to implement such technology like Fox-Tek. These large companies should be given a deadline to implement the technology by a certain date or face shut down.  Such steps would show the government actually cared about the enironment, instead of all their lies. Several years ago they talked about implementing massive fines shortly after a major catastrophy to appease the public. I believe they were talking about enforcing it by the summer of 2015 with fines as much as $1 billion dollars yet that mysteriously went away. Hmmm, I wonder why? Clearly somebody in a powerful position made it go away. How much further environmental devastation does it take before we see change?

It is long overdue.
