RE:RE:Northvolt wants to build the world's greenest batteries
RE:RE:Northvolt wants to build the world's greenest batteries I came across another article where they mention a second battery factory being planned for Sweden. Here is what they say about their raw material supply chain:
"the network includes five companies that can supply essential raw materials for the battery industry in a sustainable and ethical way globally."
https://www.epressi.com/tiedotteet/kaupungit-ja-kunnat/the-vaasa-battery-factory-project-has-brought-together-a-large-nationwide-network-of-cooperation-partners.html
Anyone who dismis the growing importance of sustainability in the supply chain of these battery guys is in denial.

Northvolt has also established a unit called Northvolt Battery Systems—a team dedicated to developing complete battery systems, which includes cells, battery, data management systems and thermal control functions, for key customer segments. The first battery module prototype was completed in February of this year. Northvolt has been selected by Epiroc as a supplier of battery systems for zero-emissions mining machines.

Northvolt progressing towards European battery Gigafactory

There is already strong value for raw materials producers with environment friendly mining and processing operations. I predict you guys that EV manufacturers and battery makers will be seriously looking at the sustainability of their supply chains. This will be a strong competitive advantage for Nemaska.
Yesterday at Dcouverte on Radio-Canada, they stated a fact that the average EV starts with a very bad environmental footprint when you compare it with an ICE. It's only after 80,000 kms that the EV reaches parity with an ICE on the environmental footprint. The EV industry knows that they need to do better, a lot better!!!
