Due to the low float, I doubt brokers would lend shares to short, if they even have any to lend. Also, the underwriters can't lend for 30 days, but that doesn't really matter here because big banks and common brokers didn't participate (assuming most peoples money isn't with the Canadian micro brokers).
The borrowing costs would be incredibly high and probably wouldn't be worth it. Although, the worst thing that would happen is your short order gets rejected......or this thing goes crazy, jumps further up, and you're forced to cover your position.
