A Quick Question on Freedom Ledger

Could someone please expain to me, in simple terms, the vision of what Freedom Ledger will do?  What out there now is its competition?  Will it be cometing with something like CoinBase?  

Sorry if these are basic questions. I am still trying to wrap my brain around all this. I get the gist of 50/50 labs. But if Freedom Ledger is going to compete with Coinbase or Robin Hood or whatever other large crypto trading platforms are out there, I am having trouble seeing its potential.  Or maybe I've misunderstood what Freedom Ledger is all about entirely?
