News....Autonomous Vehicle Display GrantVery interesting.... NTG Clarity has been approved for a grant in the amount of $963,400 towards the development of an in-vehicle console system developed with usability principles and best-practices, based on the latest research in Human Computer Interaction. This system will standardize what is currently developed ad-hoc by vehicle manufacturers and provide a model for regulatory bodies to develop standards for in-vehicle console displays . In a field that is rapidly moving away from traditional analog displays towards entirely digital displays, it is critical to develop vehicular console displays that lead to improved driver awareness and understanding while minimising distraction. The developed console will present the most relevant and critical information to the driver at any given time based on a multitude of intra and extra-vehicle stimuli. By training the system on an Artificial Intelligence platform connected to a driving simulator we intend to optimise for usability and minimise driver distraction. This project brings together the expertise of industry leaders to tackle a problem that many drivers face when first attempting to navigate the display and features of a vehicle. By relying on research-driven usability principles, we aim to create digital consoles that appeal to drivers of varying backgrounds, ages and technical skill levels maximising their safety and empowering them with the information that is most relevant to their driving experience at any point in time. "This 2 year project demonstrates NTG Clarity's commitment to capitalize on its existing technologies and experience to develop state-of-the art systems and to be one of the leaders in this important emerging field of Autonomous Vehicles" said Kristine Lewis, NTG Clarity's President.
