RE:RE:some reading
I think the only reason old shareholders will get something back by way of a new issue share in the newco is because several Guyana gov't officials were investing by way of private placement and open market buying. I met with a lot of gov't  reps in Guyana who told me themselves how much they were putting in. I don't think the newco can just start up and forget the old shares. But the rollback value wont be pretty. The payoff from an actual operation 1-2 years from now could mean break-even for some. I dont trust them but obviously our money and our shares are being held hostage while this sorts itself out. New money also needs to come in and the old name is too tainted to get anyone to open their wallet. I have no idea how much new funding has actually come in and who they are trying to get involved. I still talk on a regular basis with people in Guyana so I will try to update anyone who is interested. Fighting with each other on the bullboard doesn't accomplish anything. I often see new start ups in Guyana and watch how they trade but I can never pull the trigger. The country has a long way to go to as far as fighting corruption and crime. Even walking down the street you feel like your life is in danger and I have been to a lot of poor countries. I hope everyone does well in their other investments this year, let Mahdia be the surprise gift that just shows up one day. But it could be a long wait.
