Why does Big Pharma hate CBD???
Why does Big Pharma hate CBD??? Money. Money makes the world go around. CBD is not patentable, so big pharma cant make profits from it. This article by US Health Magz provides more details as to how much money big pharma is losing because of the CBD industry. 2,400 people responded to a survey by Brightfield Group and HelloMD, regarding their CBD usage in relation to their prescription usage. The results are mind boggling. Of these 2,400 respondents, 42% of CBD users have left their traditional medications behind altogether and now use cannabis instead. It doesnt end there. 66% of CBD users indicated that CBD products are either more effective or much more effective in relieving their medical conditions than are over-the-counter (OTC) products. As for prescription drugs? 52% of this consumer group indicated that their CBD products are either more effective or much more effective in relieving medical conditions than are prescription medications. The results dont end there. In fact, what else was asked might be even more encouraging! When asked about medical relief, more than four out of five CBD users found cannabis to work either extremely effectively or very effectively against their various conditions. Each of the individual categories under the CBD umbrella fared well, with the vast majority (82-83%) of users experiencing effective relief with the use of hemp-derived CBD, CBD-dominant and marijuana-derived CBD-only products to help treat their conditions. 90% reported they would buy CBD products again. It is for this reason that the article states, Cannabis, in general not just CBD poses a major threat to a variety of industries, namely big pharma. One analysis has found that the pharmaceutical industry could lose as much as in profits as cannabis continues to be legalized. Another survey of cannabis users conducted by researchers from UC Berkeley and Kent state university found that ninety-seven percent of the sample strongly agreed/agreed that they are able to decrease the amount of opiates they consume when they also use cannabis, and 81% strongly agreed/agreed that taking cannabis by itself was more effective at treating their condition than taking cannabis with opioids. It is important to note that these respondents are likely biased. They value cannabis enough to have joined an online cannabis community. So although these results are incredible, it should be noted that the general population may not have results that are viewed this positively. However, it can also be argued that the reason they joined a cannabis community is because of the results they had using Cannabis/CBD.
