RE:RE:Legalizing cannabis in Canada will snowball to alliesTrudeauMaybe Trudeau can get Trump to spend a few hours with him/ our strongest negotiators and we could get NAFTA done, along with advising on other issues to get MJ legalization and Kinder Morgan moving dirt before holidays....I realize Trump works ~20hrs a day, 7days a week but he has accomplished more for his counrty and ours in the 2wks than we will do for our country in entire year!!

If we accept the passing of the Bill until 2019 expect SP levels much lower, maybe below $1??. JMHO....Opt

OptGreen wrote: Appreciate the info dan, but more government double speak that is unclear enough to require one to guess and hope....like election promises. "in the summer" is hardly specific, rather another open ended comment by a politition, especially when you have Blair speaking about 'after summer break' but hopefully in 2018.

The vote set for June 7th is specific and they wil be in summer break mode from then until Sept, which will be when they continue with getting organized for legalization and they will start talking again??....they should pass the Bill before they leave for holidays, period. Now if that means that they have to get the vote by the Senate done next week if necessary to pass the Bill...the Senate has nothing to do between now and then anyway so let's see some action, get the Bill passed then go on holidays and anybody that isn't ready for legalization by now is their problem and not a valid reason to not legalize "in the summer".....and September through December is not "in the summer"!!

It is time to stop supporting the criminal and save a few of our kids in the process....pass the Bill then go on holidays!! If the Bill was passed July 1st all sales could be done on line for those that aren't ready, of which most of those won't be ready in Sept either. Kinder Morgan needs to be moving dirt on the on the pipeline before holidays as well....we need to generate revenues for the country and well paying jobs, not holidays and deficit spending ....and now, not whenever, JMHO...Opt

The legalization of cannabis in Canada, effective "in the summer", is closely followed by Ottawa allies who could quickly be inspired, said Justin Trudeau in an exclusive interview with AFP.

As a campaign promise, this measure will make Canada the first G7 country to authorize the production, trade and consumption of this sweet drug, five years after Uruguay, the first state in the world to do so.
The Canadian Senate is expected to adopt a final version of the bill in early June for an expected entry into force "during the summer," said the Canadian prime minister.

"There is a lot of interest from our allies in what we do, they recognize that Canada is being daring (...) and recognize our honesty, when we admit that the current system does not work. not to prevent our young people from having easy access to cannabis, "he said, one month before the G7 summit of heads of state and government in Canada.

"In many countries, especially in Canada, it is easier (for a minor, Ed) to buy a seal than buying a beer. It does not make sense! And, on top of that, it's a terrible source of revenue for organized crime, "said Trudeau.
His Liberal government wants to believe that "by controlling and regulating the sale of cannabis, we will be able to better protect our communities, better protect our youth," said the Prime Minister.

"The allies I spoke to are interested in seeing how things are going (...) before they get going," Trudeau noted, without specifying which countries he was referring to. "If it works well, and I expect it to work well, it would surprise me a lot that they are very slow in studying what model might work for them," he said.

Once the federal government has legalized cannabis, Canadian provinces and territories will have the task of organizing the trade. Ontario and Quebec, which represent more than two-thirds of the Canadian population, have already provided for strict supervision by specialized public companies.

In terms of value, the production of "the cannabis industry equals the beer industry" and is "larger than the tobacco industry," according to official statistics worth C $ 5.7 billion (3 , € 7 billion) Canadian cannabis expenditure
