COMPUTER SYSTEMS ARE USUALLY SET UP TO PUT IN LOGIC CHECKS SO THAT (FOR EXAMPLE) A LOGICALLY VALID STOCK TICKER IS USED AND THEY ALSO REQUIRE EXCHANGE AND SOME OTHER INFORMATION TO BE ENTERED.

DIFFERENT SYSTEMS HAVE DIFFERENT REQUIREMENTS BUT IF YOU DO NOT ENTER SUFFICIENT (ALBEIT MADE UP) INFORMATION THEY WILL NOT ALLOW YOU TO PROCEED.

THAT MAKES LIFE DIFFICULT WHEN A STOCK WHICH IS NOT TRADED IS DESIRED TO BE TALKED ABOUT.
