Fighting mining pirates in MeghriMeghri residents started collecting signatures against the operation of Litchq mine and the exploitation of new mines (meghrinews.com; May 16, 2018)

The Meghri residents continue to fight mining development in the region and the exploitation of the existing Litchq mine.
A petition has been prepared for the Prime Minister Nikol Pashinian for the purpose of banning geological prospecting and mine exploitation in the Meghri community, stopping the exploitation of the copper mine in Lichq, and controlling the exploitation of metal mines in the community. This morning, the process of collecting signatures for the petition began.
A protest action is also planned in the territory of Litchq mine, about which the following statement has been circulated:
On May 18, at 7:30 am, gather at the Meghri Cultural Center, where the march to the Litchq Mine will begin!
