RE:As a former customer, this is important for you guys/galsSo in Ontario about $5 of a $10 gram is going to the govt in the form of taxes and retail markup. Do you honestly believe for even a second that they will allow illegal dispensaries to compete with the legal weed they are profitting from. If you're answer is yes, they will continue to allow these illegal store fronts then I think you shouldn't touch these LP's with a ten foot pole. If you believe as most, if not all, of us do that they will be erased from existance the day that legal weed is offered for sale then your point is mute.
As an aside I always get a chuckle from articles like this. BC craft growers, which I read as BC illegal organized crime, that also is responsible for stalking these illegal dispensaries shelves are crying that they aren't a part of the legal regime:
Craft cannabis growers in B.C. sound alarm over survival of the sector
VANCOUVER — Craft cannabis growers and sellers in British Columbia want the federal and provincial governments to take immediate steps to protect the future of their businesses ahead of legalization expected this year.
Five groups representing small-scale pot producers delivered an open letter today to federal Justice Minister Jody Wilson-Raybould and her B.C. counterpart David Eby demanding regulatory changes.
The federal government has signalled it plans to make room for craft cannabis with a proposed micro-cultivation licence, but it hasn't created an application process.
The groups, including the Craft Cannabis Association of B.C., want the government to urgently create a process so they can obtain licences and begin competing with large licensed producers for provincial supply contracts.
The groups also say a proposed space limit on micro-cultivation is too small and that packaging and labelling restrictions should be loosened so craft cannabis can distinguish itself.
Ian Dawkins of the Cannabis Commerce Association of Canada says federal and provincial plans for legal marijuana will kill B.C.'s community-based craft cannabis.
"If that happens, it will devastate rural economies and take decades to rebuild, so we are asking both levels of government to take action now, before it is too late," he says in a news release.

They aren't purchasing their products from these large TSX and venture companies, they are basically doing it via the black market, and the police aren't/can't enforce the laws, and IF they do, the illegal dispensary still makes out wining bigly in the end. Tax free money.
These places are also starting to offer delivery services as well, so although I know there's a LOT of money to be made in this industry, I can almost guarantee it won't be as huge as once predicted. Nobody makes their own vodka and whiskey, so the LCBO doesn't get undercut by the black market...BUT I can guarantee the weed industry will be over taxed by the gvt, and the quazi legal places will be LIVING LARGE!!! I do have a licence and used to order from TWEED aka Canopy Growth.....no more, why should I when I can just drive down the block and actually see in person what I'm getting or order online with a waiting period, fewer products, more expensive, lower quality yada yada...
Anyways, I'd love to hear some thoughts on this, because again...although I believe it's still a huge legal market, I think the "corner stores" will completely take the market, and they don't buy from the gvt....
Prediction, the market is undervalued BUT still very valuable, if that makes sense.
