The real problem isThat there is no shortage of phosphate in the world. There is lots of it available, from much safer venues already in production. And several that are in infancy state and close to coastal areas and infrastructure.
Ie DAN in Quebec. Very large and rich resource they claim to be very clean as well. Last I checked the Quebecers were a lot easier to get along with than the terrorist ridden African continent.
Quebec is also found in a very safe, rich and educated country.
And yet DAN can not get off the ground. Been struggling for a very long time. No oxygen for it. Why? Because there is no demand for phosphate fertilizer. Same can be said for most other fertilizers. Sask is home to the biggest potash mines in the world. Hundreds of years worth. And yet there are mine closures and mergers galore. BHP has shut in their project, slated to be the worlds largest. Now sitting still indefinitely. Why? No demand.
My thoughts are that fertilizer PR departments have been very successful at misleading investors.
All the stories of growing populations, wanting more quality foods and meats, driving up stock prices of juniors and majors. India and Brazil were supposed to be having riot problems because people were demanding food. Their governments under pressure. The supply of fertilizers was going to run out, in particular phosphate. Yet they are always finding more.
I believe these were all over hyped problems. Some were just pure lies.
This was the same story about oil. Remember how we were running out?
At any rate there is no demand.
